The Work Programme

The Work Programme is the Governments flagship initiative to help and support those who are currently not in the job market to find and maintain long term work. The new programme will run from June 2011 and we have recently been offered a contract to deliver in Lochaber, Skye and Wester Ross.

Where this can be seen as a challenge in an area with high seasonal employment and fewer full time opportunities, we are confident that by working in partnership with a well establish community in the area we can to offer quality opportunities for all.

The Work Programme will add another dimension to the existing work the Shirlie Project do in the area; from the Transitions programmes we can offer in schools and the Get Ready for Work programme for young people aged 16 - 19 to the Employability Workshops and Job Coaching package we offer for adults, we are able assist people of all ages and varying support needs gain and sustain work.
